Application for Support:
REACH Relief Fund
4/2/20 UPDATE: We have received over 1,000 requests from families and our team is moving through them as quickly as possible. This application is closed while we process these applications and seek more funding.
The REACH Relief Fund is focused on getting money directly to families who are most vulnerable during this crisis so that they have the freedom and agency to provide for the needs of their children and themselves.
If you live in Oakland and have an urgent need for financial assistance in one or more of the following areas in the coming weeks and months, please fill out the application:
- Cleaning and sanitizing supplies
- Gas and transportation to work
- Homeschool or child care supplies and resources
Maximum assistance that can be requested will be up to $550 per household. Actual awards will depend on the amount of funds donated and the number of families who request assistance.
These funds are intended to go to families who have lost income because of COVID-19 related disruption (e.g. hourly workers in the service industry); families who qualify for free or reduced school lunch; families who are housing insecure or at risk of becoming so; and/or undocumented and mixed status families who may not qualify for all government programs or who are unlikely to access programs.
To apply, please click the application link here. This will take no more than 5 minutes. If you cannot fill this out online, The Oakland REACH can complete these questions with you over the phone. You can either call your REACH organizer or our main number at (510) 969-5841.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Approval text and/or emails will be sent out within 48 hours of receipt of online application. Funds will be disbursed once a week. Money will distributed with the following options:
